Where can i purchese Periwinkle plants?

I live outside of richmond, va and was wondering if there was anywhere around here that sold them

Where can i purchese Periwinkle plants?
You might consider your local garden center. There are also many resources online for you seed needs. Periwinkle (vinca) are easy because they are somewhat invasive in that they spread and seed freely.

Reply:I assume where you are they are not too invasive. In parts of NZ they are considered an invasive weed pest
Reply:Two years ago I bought mine at the Walmart garden center.
Reply:As soon as your local gardening centers and nurseries open for spring planting, you will be able to find these plants.

What flowers should I have in my wedding (my colors are a light grey and periwinkle)?

I really like roses, but they are a bit on the expensive side. I like carnations, but are they really for a wedding? What else is there?

What flowers should I have in my wedding (my colors are a light grey and periwinkle)?
Do you want flowers in those colors or a contrasting color like pink? What color are the dresses?

What I would suggest is find pictures of bouquets that you like the overall look of, then take them to your florist and ask what flowers would be good to substitute. Depending on where you live and the season you're getting married in, it's hard to say what flowers would be the least expensive.

You can also substitute professional quality silks for the more expensive, delicate flowers. I wanted peonies and lily of the valley in my bouquet for sentimental reasons, but they were expensive and delicate, so the florist mixed in silk ones with the real flowers and it was beautiful.

And if you really want roses or another expensive flower, consider using them more as accents than the entire bouquet. A few roses mixed in with other flowers will give you the look you want without costing a lot.

Check out some of these bouquets:

Reply:Lilies and hydrangeas would be beautiful with these colors and come in a variety of colors. You could also take a trip to Michaels or Hobby Lobby....and take a look at their silk flowers...even if you aren't going to use silk, this will give you an idea of what the names of the different flowers are and what colors they come in and what will look like together . Just take a piece of paper and make notes...then you can take this to your florist to check for prices.
Reply:Hydrangeas are great. They come in colors that will match your wedding and you get a lot of flower for your money.
Reply:Lizianthis and Peonies are both flowers that look a lot like roses, and I believe they are less expensive. Please don't do carnations, those are not really good wedding flowers. There are also tulips, calla lilies, hydrangea, all beautiful flowers. As a matter of fact, they have some really pretty bluish hydrangeas that would probably be really pretty with your colors. Hope this helps! Good luck.
Reply:you can use any flowers you want. It's your wedding. Baby's breath, lilies, carnations (would be beautiful) and gardenias
Reply:I love lilies - calla %26amp; stargazer are lovely! and Alstomeria makes a great filler flower with them %26amp; would pick up your colors. What about Lavender Delphinium and peonies - http://www.mysilkweddingflowers.com/no.2...
Reply:I choose the exact same colors for my June wedding. We choose purple roses %26amp;white carnation arrangements. They looked amazing. If you don't want to spend a fortune on flowers,Check out your local grocery store, and see what they have to offer. Believe it or not we went to our local grocery store, which had a floral dept. that would do weddings. We paid like 300$ and got so much for our $$ ,we couldn't believe it. We got so many compliments on them. All the corsages, boutinneires, bouquets, and table arrangements.

Hello, I just painted my walls Periwinkle bud, looks great, the carpet however is a little dark. What to do?

The room looks great! But I got the carpet in a darker brown then I should have. What do you suggest I do. What other colors go well with Periwinkle bud from (Behr) I also have a hint of green (lime green) Thanks!

Hello, I just painted my walls Periwinkle bud, looks great, the carpet however is a little dark. What to do?
How about adding some cream pillows or a throw, or lighter drapes/shades? Make sure you have a three light sources in the room, with light lampshades for optimum brightness. You can also find a few things like vases, photos, pillows with the lime green, to add some brightness. It's good to have 3 colors in a room. I think it sounds pretty.
Reply:I would also suggest a rug that ties all the colors together. Report It

Reply:Since paint is a bargain as opposed to carpet, PAINT OVER, gee.

Steven Wolf

Thousands of gallons of paint and thousands of sq. ft. of carpet later
Reply:try a tan. it should naturally blend.

Go to a home depot and by the little samples, place them on the floor and decide what you like best. It's all personal preference. hope I helped and Happy New Year!
Reply:um purple I suggest or lime green is a good decision follow your heart.........
Reply:it will all look different after you furnish it,wont it?
Reply:accent rug over the top of the other rug.
Reply:That sounds delightfully putrid. Live with it.
Reply:Maybe a rug on the carpet would pull some color down from the walls?
Reply:get a big pink carpet and lay it in the center of the room

Getting married in a periwinkle dress confused about my 4 bridesmaids, what color should they be in?

Periwinkle is a pale bluish purple: of a pale bluish purple color

Microsoft® Encarta® 2007. © 1993-2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. -- It is a soft color that calms anxieties. I have tried looking the color up on the internet, but I have had no luck in finding the color of my dress or even colors that could be considered periwinkle. Another example of the color is cornflower blue. They are similar in color, however, cornflower blue is more on the blue side. Any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Getting married in a periwinkle dress confused about my 4 bridesmaids, what color should they be in?
I found something on wikipedia that has the colour periwinkle on it and it is a very very lovely colour.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periwinkle_...

here is the colour I think the bridesmades should wear.

scroll down the page after you click on the link and find the light pink or the lavender. Thats just my opinion but you can pick from any of the lovely colours.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_color

hope I helped you and enjoy your wedding!
Reply:I would go with a lavender color, maybe have them holding white flowers? DONT make them wear dark colors, it will clash. You want the overall bridal party picture to somewhat go together, so lavender may be your best bet as it is similar to periwinkle but not too similar to be mixed up. Congratulations on the marriage!
Reply:darling, you should get married in a white dress, it's a symbol of purity, plus, it's like, well let me put it this way, when i see somebody that wears a colored dress, to me, the first thing i think is disrespect, maybe no that, but like fake...i think you should deff. get a gorgeous white wedding gown!!!

congratulations!!!!
Reply:Thgis may sound strange but to really offset your dress, they could wear a champange white. It's not white so it wouldn't infringe on any beleifs. However the contrast would set you apart and truly be astounding. Good Luck
Reply:Dark purple or a dark navy would look good with a periwinkle dress. Never go lighter then the bride dress though, then it would look like they would be getting married instead of you.

The links below show the colors next to each other, they blend.

What two colors make periwinkle?

I am searching for a periwinkle colored cocktail or punch for a wedding does anyone know of one?

The girls are wanting to use the drink as a toost so it can be a cocktail or punch...

I am searching for a periwinkle colored cocktail or punch for a wedding does anyone know of one?
might try a blue lady:

1 1/2 gin

1/2 blue curacoa (varied according to the color you want)

1 cream

shaken with ice and strained, served "up" in martini glasses.

For taste, if I were you I might add a hefty shot of white creme de cacao.

And keep in mind if that is too blue, you can add a little chambord to alter the color (experiment). Chambord is a little pricey, but any drink it makes its way into tastes devine!

NOUN:

1: Any of several shrubby, trailing, evergreen plants of the genus Vinca, especially V. minor, having glossy,*! dark green,!* opposite leaves and flowers with a *!blue!*, funnel-shaped corolla. Also called myrtle .

2: Any of several erect herbs of the genus Catharanthus, especially C. roseus, having flowers with a *!rose-pink!* or

*! white!* salverform corolla and a closed throat.

3: A *!pale purplish blue!*

I have NO idea what color that is..Green blue rose purple???
Reply:Blanc de noir champagne (has a light pink hue) with a little shot of blueberry liquer should be about that color and taste good too. Put the liquer in the glass, then fill with champagne

Prosecco (slightly sweet Italian sprakling wine) and white peach puree is the classic Bellini. This is just a twist on that.

Don't bother with expensive champagne for this.
Reply:Choose a light or no-color punch recipe. Add a drop or two of blue food coloring and stir until you get a pleasant light blue color. Then add one drop of red, to get the periwinkle color. (Depending on the volume of liquid, it may take more than one drop, but be careful to add only one drop at a time and stir after each. Too much red and you will get purple.)

If you happen to select a light pink punch recipe, you can add the blue food coloring only. Again, stir after the addition of each drop in order to not over-color the punch.
Reply:Blue curacao (pronounced - cure-a-sow) is a blue liqueur and it's the flavour of oranges. It goes well with soda water or something like 7-up. It will maintain its colour that way. Using pineapple juice will taste good but turn it green from the blue and yellow colour combination.

Reply:Purple: red wine, Framboise (raspberry), Fraise (strawberry), Cassis (black currant)

i think there are 3 basic colors that can make all colors if yo umix it right.

red/blue/yellow ? i'm not sure the 3 colors but you can google it.

How do you plant Periwinkle's to make them grow best?

I plant mine about six inches apart, about 2 1/2 inches deep.

I plant them where they get all the afternoon sun and they do great. And sence they get that sun I try and water them

everyday or every other, depends on the heat.

Where does a periwinkle plant grow?

I need help.. I need to know where a periwinkle plant grows!!! So you can help and tell me where they grow!!!

Where does a periwinkle plant grow?
I grow them in zones 8b and 9 with no problem.
Reply:Me thinks that oil field trash is thinking of a different Periwinkle than I am. Vinca minor (common name Periwinkle) is a ground cover, that is most suitable for semi to mostly shady areas. It doesn't like full sun at all unless you have exceptional soils and water the heck out of it.
Reply:I have a variety that grows in water.
Reply:Which periwinkle do you mean?? The blue flowered perennial

(Vinca minor) or the pink flowered annual (Catharanthus roseus)

Both Brian and Oil field trash are right.Brian is talking about the blue one and oil feild trash is talking about the pink one.

The only things I can add is the pink one grows best in well drained soil and once established is fairly drought tolerant. The blue one will grow in any soil.
Reply:They grow most everywhere but they really like hot weather. Many people put them out too early in the spring and they die from a fungus or virus that causes damping off.

Wait until it gets really warm to plant them and put them in a sunny area.

They will reseed themselves.

Can I use periwinkle to climb and cover a wall?

Can I train periwinkle, Bowles Cunningham Periwinkle (Vinca Minor 'Bowles Cunningham'), to climb and cover a wall? I know I have selected the right location as far as soil, moisture, and sun is concerned and that it has long "vines" like a climbing plant so I know I can tie it up but I want it to thrive. Also I have seen people stagger nails in a wall and tie vines to them. Is there any trick to that? Thanks for your help and tips!

Can I use periwinkle to climb and cover a wall?
Periwinkle spreads but has no tendrils to hold it to a wall. If you stake it you might end up killing it over the winter. If you are in zone 8 or lower try creeping ficus, it's amazing. Periwinkle is nice but only flowers for a short while so it's not worth trying to get the color out of it. Maybe you can do boxes on top of the wall and train, down?
