Color to Paint Kitchen?

My mud room is periwinkle. My kitchen is off of my mud room. Don't have a lot of $$ to spend. Want to clean up %26amp;paint walls in kitchen. Cabinets are dark walnut with butcher block counter tops. Flooring is going to be indoor./outdoor carpet....do not have options with the flooring. Huge bay window in kitchen. Any ideas on color for the walls %26amp;accent colors? I have a dining room off thekitchen that will also be repainted. This is an old farm house.

Thx

you should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I personally love red kitchens, so I recommend something like "enticing red" (#6600).
Reply:I think a dark rich red would look great in an old farmhouse for both the kitchen and dining room and would go great with the warm colors of the cabinets and butcher block counter tops!!
Reply:how about this:

Reply:Light yellows are a good kitchen color for a wake up flavor. With a navaho white accent. test the samples with the walnut and maybe go with a flat enamel for easy cleanup and a more solid appearance. A sand color might be nice also and easier with the dark wood. it will have a calming effect.
