I bought a periwinkle dress from davids bridal for my bridesmaid and was expecting it to blue-ish purple but its more blue than anything. Is it possible to get a blue flower? If not i am going to do all white with a blue ribbon. http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_... I attached a link, hope it works.
Blue flowers?
There ARE blue flowers out there; they are just not as common as other colors.
Hydrangeas are a great choice:

There are also cornflowers:

And irises:

And agapanthuses (lily of the Nile):

And delphinium:

You can even dye roses blue, if you want. (There are varities that have naturally been bred to be blue, but apparently those don't last as long as the dyed ones.)

You might want to consider using a contrasting color instead. My sister-in-law used that exact same bridesmaid dress in her wedding (periwinkle and everything), and she used orange and blue flowers in her bridesmaid bouquets. Since orange and blue are complementary colors (across from each other on the color wheel), the contrast was absolutely gorgeous. She used orange alstroemeria in her bouquets:

Good luck, and I hope this helps!
Reply:Perinwinkle is not, actually never, a purplish blue, it is sort of a variation of the sky blue but not as bright as that shade.
Anyway, you can still go with a lavender-colored flower (orchid or such) as the flower to go with the dress.
See the link below.
Reply:Hi and congratulations!
I love the dress....but, yes, it is more on the blue side. But I still like it!!!
Here is my suggestion as I love to arrange flowers. Don't try to match the flower color with the dress color. That will not look good in pictures (or in person) in my opinion. Instead, you want flowers that contrast AGAINST the blue. You want something that will stand out!
Look at this color wheel. You want something opposite of blue....so that would be something in the red/orange/yellow area:

Possibly a mixture of all of these!

If you want to wrap it all with a blue ribbon, that would be nice.
Also....are you getting fresh flowers? If so, please go and meet with a florist (or two!) and get their opinions and ideas. That is their business! They do weddings every weekend. They are there to assist you in your selection and work within your budget.
Good luck!
Reply:that dress is in cornflower??? thats the color of my bridesmaids. ( i have 8 ... lol) my bouquets for them are blue hydrangias, yellow and orange roses, and bells of ireland (which are like granny smith apple green) I like the way all the colors look with the dresses. i did not want to go with all blue and white, cause it reminds me of the greek flag, and we arent greek.
Hope it helped. i get married this weekend, and can send u pics after. Congrats and goodluck
Reply:Hydrangeas are the most popular

Reply:I think white flowers would look better, or if you really like the blue mix it with white flowers. It's up to you though, you are the bride! Congrats %26amp; have fun!
Reply:hydrangea's come in blue.... you can also buy floral spray and change the color of any flower.
Reply:I think white flowers would be gorgeous with this dress.
Pinks would be nice too, if you're OK with introducing another colour into the mix.
Reply:I agree. Those are pretty, maybe a little much for a wedding but if used right they could work.
I'd go with white flowers if you could though.
Reply:there are blue flowers!!! if you were in cyprus i'd help you more but i don't know their names in english and i certainly don't know where to find them anywhere else!!!:(
