Okay, so here is my dilemma... I hope someone can help! I was doing a load of light colored laundry i.e. tan , light blue, beige and white stuff. I also threw in a coral colored dress. (Don't ask why?) I figured I was washing in cold water it wouldn't matter. Boy was I wrong! First of all it was the fist time the garment was washed and the washer was set to warm!!!! When the wash stopped the damage was surveyed! Everything in the washer came out this putrid bubble gum pink! UGH! I'm a girl but, come on I'm not 2 anymore! I tried soaking them and putting them in the sun to dry but everything is still a light pink!
I went to the store to find "Rit" Color Remover stuff but the lady advised me that using the product would remove ALL color from the laundry. Is this true?
So if I used it on my light blue tank top which is now a fugly periwinkle is it gonna turn out white or something???
Please help me! Thanks I would appreciate any and all help!
HELP! My white pants and other laundry turned bubble gum pink?
I only have an idea for the whites. Try starting a new load of ONLY whites adding bleach and once the washer is full of water turn it off and let the clothes soak for about 45 minutes then turn on the washer and finish the load. This should make the whites white once again.
You could possibly try the same thing with color safe bleach for the other light colored clothing. I don't know if it will work or not. But this is just my suggestion.
Reply:use bleach on the whites, I would try the Rit dye on the rest-good luck
Reply:well that dress turned everything pink! no matter what kind of water putting colors in whites is NOT A GOOD IDEA! yes "Rit" will take a.ll color from your clothes so if you use it on somthing blue, it will be white. only use the "Rit" on whites.
Reply:OK separate all of the colors first this is gonna be more than a one load fix.....Wash all of the clothes (SEPARATED by color) with Oxi-clean and try that first.....If that does not work try Ammonia in the wash if that does not work you may have to use the Rit color remover and have a nice new white tank top but DO NOT DRY THE CLOTHES UNTIL YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED YOUR GOAL, Otherwise you will be stuck with the results......Hope this helps :) Keep in mind all of these suggestions will need to soak for a good long while for them to have a chance; I suggest overnight
Reply:Hi. Try some Clorox "color safe" bleach. It may not work perfectly-you'll find out-but it won't ruin your clothes or their other colors in any case. The "RIT" will remove all your color-the lady is right.
Reply:all i can advise is take everything that is just white and wash it with bleach....otherwise....crappy way to learn a lesson, but dont mix colors with white.
