Suggestions for a Signature Drink for my beach wedding?


Hey Everyone,





I'm having a beach wedding on a budget. Instead of doing a tacky cash bar or skipping alcohol altogether, we are doing kegs of beer, red wine, white wine, blush wine and a signature mixed drink to go with our theme.





I'm looking for tasty suggestions for fun beach drinks. Please do not suggest Bahama Mamas, Blue Hawaii, Pina Coladas or Strawberry Daquiries. I'd like to do something more interesting than those four standard drinks.





I'm allergic to coconut, so nothing with coconut in it. My wedding color is periwinkle, so purple/blue colored drinks would be a total bonus. Do we have any bartenders out there?

This is an awesome site that tells you the name of all the mixed drinks and what color they or theme they fall under. I found quite a few that would be appropriate for the Beach Theme and fall under a purple blue color. Have fun!!
Reply:I have heard of a shot that is called sex on the beach. Don't recall the recipe or ingredients but could look this up with a google search of alcoholic drinks and/or sex on the beach. Hope you find what you need in this. As always be sure to have the reception promote safe driving when one drinks.I lost a cousin to drunk driving. It was a tragedy for him at 18. His mother soon died after and then his dad did. They had lost their youngest child to this, so don't let a happy event turn into a sad one by having someone drink too much and drive.

This website is great for recipes. I typed in "tropical" for the search and this is what I got. Good Luck and watch out for that coconut rum, it seems to be in a lot of them!

Reply:Frozen Margaritas are a big favorite!!! get umbrellas of your favorite color to coordinate-very inexpensive!!! I bartended weddings for 3 years- You can sing "Margaritaville" also!!!!

2) Blue Curaco and cherry whiskey


3) Blue curaco and pretty much any flavor sour puss





Mix all of the above with club soda (Sprite and the like makes it sickeningly sweet) and pour over ice with a cherry and an umbrella!! I hope you enjoy these!
Reply:What about a Beach Bum? Equal parts orange juice, lemon lime pop and limon rum. I know it's not blue or purple, but it's a great drink.
